Back to the Past
The girls seem to have been thrown back into ancient times. With the help of a young girl they take down an Anteater from hell. Luckily Erin has a translator she stole and is able to speak to the cave girl. Elsewhere, Mac and KJ have just survived almost drowning and have gotten back on land. Mac is still super grumpy since she’s learned that she will die at an early age. I’d probably in a bad mood too if I knew when and how I was going to die. Back to the young cave girl, Tiffany and Erin learn that she was told in her dreams to follow the fallen star (the girls) to find the treasure from the three very savage men or else her baby’s life would be in danger.
A Dr. Braustein wonders through the woods reminiscing of her childhood. When suddenly she’s attacked by a vicious looking caveman. Maybe the ones the other girl was talking about? But this cave man knocks her out and steals her gun type thing. That’s probably really, really bad. Finally, we end with KJ becoming a woman at the very absolute worse time ever.
I love, love, extra love this series. From the very first issue I was hooked. I’m excited to be caught up to the current issue and now can write reviews as it comes out. Cliff and Matt do a wonderful job being able to have the girls travel through time and yet keep this stranger things, 80’s feel to the book. Immersing the reader into world after world without losing the integrity of what makes this book so special. It’s something I admire tremendously. The story is captivating and without a doubt keeps you on your toes. I don’t know if just because I’m a girl that last scene just seemed so personal. Every girl can remember that exact moment it happened to them, and generally it’s not a good memory. But that’s what make Brian K. Vaughan such an awesome writer. With all the craziness going on he is able to bring it back down to Earth and add a sense of reality to the situation. As I said before I’m hooked and you need to pick this issue or Volume 1 and 2 right away.
