This book starts off with Scott as the Demon staring down the barrel of Detective Hendricks gun. Thinking he finally has the Demon cornered he reads him his rights, well an abridged version leading to an execution of the Demon. Little did the Detective know Scott had something up his sleeve and his gun blew up. Scott tries to get information out of Hendricks but his back up squad of snipers line up on him so he’s forced to escape.

At home asleep his daughter Lucy tries to wake up Scott and, with his knife glove on somehow he swings around and puts his hand around his daughter’s throat. Jamie runs into the room, confronts him about his lying about working nights, and not letting him hurt their daughter or her tells him to leave.

Now sleeping in a hotel Scott has missed work because of his personal life and his moonlighting as a Demon, his partner is worried and goes to check on him and tries to pull him out of his funk. Scott has trouble trying to open up to Fisher so he decides to show her his secret life. What’s in the box instead is pictures of his wife and daughter with their faces scratched out. His partner walks out and when Scott reopens the box the Demon outfit is inside of it.

Detective Hendricks is given one last chance to catch the Demon after being chastised for letting him get away already once. Hendricks is given whatever he needs but he has to wrap it up by the end of the week. He decides to recruit Fisher for his team as bait because of her past as being a dirty cop.

Plan in place they go after the Demon, and Scott falls into the trap. Being as hard to catch as ever Scott realizes it was a trap and escapes. Now being chased by the whole of the NYPD Scott decides to take them for a trip:

Being cornered again by Hendricks, now accompanied by Fisher, Scott decides enough is enough and kills him. Fisher has him in her sights and then realizes that the Demon is Scott and he gets away. We end this issue with Scott busting into a Novo church and tells them he will give them exactly what they want…

The Confessional

This whole series has been really good and this issue moved really quickly for me. I was totally gripped by the story, the art was fantastic and the ending wasn’t what I expected but left me wanting to know what happens next. I had a few issues with this story having timing issues leaving you wondering how many days have actually gone by.
